Smoothie operator
My older boy has discovered smoothies. Fortunately its not ice cream and peanut butter smoothies (don't give him ideas) but healthy breakfast smoothies. He just walks into the kitchen, grabs a banana, some strawberries, plain yogurt, and a scoop of The Daily Shake and gets to work. I stood there watching him blend away, thinking "When did he get so independent?" and "Should I be worried about the kitchen ceiling?" But mostly I was impressed. He's discovered the Daily Shake isn't just a shake. You see, while I've been mixing mine with water like some sort of health peasant, he's been experimenting. Yogurt for creaminess. Banana for sweetness. Strawberries because, well, they're strawberries and everything is better with strawberries. And it got me thinking - I've forgotten all the options The Daily Shake gives you. Maybe you have too. The daily shake is not what you think it is.Here's where most people get confused. They see "shake" in the name and immediately think: "Oh, it's a meal replacement!" Nope. At 73 calories per serving, it's not replacing your breakfast. It's enhancing it. "So it's a protein shake then?" Also nope. Those usually taste like chalk mixed with artificial vanilla and 13 different kinds of sweeteners and don't have vitaminy goodness. "Then what is it?" It's your daily nutrient supplement in chocolate form. Think of it as a multivitamin, gut supplement, brain food and other goodies that don't get stuck in your throat.
So how can you use the Daily Shake?
- Add it to your coffee. It becomes a mocha, except full of the nutrients you need. Win-win. - Mix it into your oats while they're cooking. Chocolate oats. With 33 nutrients.
- If you ARE the gym type, mix it with your usual protein powder. Now your post-workout shake has protein for muscle recovery AND all the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and adaptogens your body actually needs.
- Make a smoothie. Follow my boys example. Tweenagers know everything!
- Or make a smoothie bowl. Blend it with frozen berries and just a splash of liquid. Top with nuts, seeds, more berries. Instagram-worthy breakfast. Strava worthy energy. So maybe it's time to stop thinking of The Daily Shake as just a shake. Maybe it's time to start thinking of it as the secret ingredient that makes everything better. Your morning coffee. Your boring oats. Your post-workout routine. Your kid's smoothie experiments. 33 nutrients. 73 calories. Infinite possibilities. And the best part? Unlike that cupboard full of supplement bottles gathering dust, there's only one thing to remember to take. ONE SCOOP. DONE.
