"No dad, no sing!"
A little part of my soul died. What dad want's their toddler to tell them that they mustn't sing in the car?
I know I'm no Mariah Carey, I don't see myself singing "All I want for christmas" to all the shoppers in Checkers, but I always felt I could at least hold my own against Bob Dylan at least. I've even had people clap after I sang karaoke that one time I sang The Doors. (It happened!)
But I guess there's no fooling the honesty of a toddler who's learning to express his opinion.
Explaining my singing ability (in my own opinion) is basically trying to explain that very specific niche where I shine. I'm not an Idol's blooper reel, and I don't croon to a bored audience at the local pub, and I'm DEFINITELY not winning a Grammy anytime soon. But get the crowd drunk enough and give me a karaoke mic and I can hold my own. *You might still need earplugs.
It's a bit like when I tell people I make a Daily Shake for a living. "Oh, a protein shake?" No. "A meal replacement?" No. "A greens shake?" they ask with that high pitch voice as they run out of ideas. No.
Fortunately the Daily Shake is a LOT better than my singing ability, but still in a niche of its own. It is an all-in-one supplement that is easy, comprehensive and tasty.
Protein shakes are there to give you protein, usually after a workout. Whey protein or pea protein, flavouring and sugar. Sometimes there is added vitamins and minerals. But it is not for general health, primarily to help muscle repair. And because of its simplicity, it is generally fairly affordable.
Meal replacements let you skip a meal. Products like Ensure, Replace or Huel offer similar protein powders, but usually a more comprehensive vitamin and mineral profile. But the quantities are quite low as it is not a supplement designed to keep you healthy.
Greens shakes are a modern solution to people not eating vegetables. Dehydrated veggies and superfoods are blended together and you drink them. The success of products like AG1 prove how popular that idea is, but that's assuming that the veggies actually have the nutrients they are supposed to, thanks to modern farming practices. And green shakes seldom taste great. They also seldom have extras like amino acids or collagen.
And then there's The Daily Shake. None of the above. It's not high protein, because it's not only for the workout crowd, it is supposed to be taken every day. It's not a meal replacement because trying to get a shake down after a nice breakfast is not fun! And it's not a green's replacement, because you should eat your veggies, not grimace as the flavour of grass washes over you.
It's your all-in-one supplement that tastes nice. Order this week, use the code "blackfriday24" and get 25%. Or else I might just come sing to you.
