Dong, Basil and Wanda.
"How can I help?"
The standard response to walking into a health store. At least I got help, unlike Dischem.
"I'm OK, thanks."
As I browsed the options available, all 2000 of them, I felt the presence get closer.
"What are you looking for?"
Peace and quiet, I thought to myself. "Just looking for some powders." I'm working on a new product and needed to taste some of the ingredients.
"Which ones?" I wasn't winning this battle. "Dong quai."
"For you???"
"No, for a hormonal thing."
"For your wife?"
"Sure."
"You must be careful with that. You should try Basil."
"Do you have Dong Quai?"
"No."
"Great! Thanks Wanda."
As helpful as she was trying to be, I realised, that's often the problem with walking into a health store. I have some, (25 years) experience with health products and ingredients, and I still get intimidated looking at the myriad of options. Dong quai has been used for over 1000 years in Traditional Chinese Medicine, 1 of 11 000 herbs, so I was fairly sure it would be useful for what I need, but I was being steered away by a shop assistant looking to move another product.
So when you don't know what you need, and the eager helper at the health shop gives you ideas, why wouldn't you follow it?
What's my point?
I believe adding and adding and adding supplements to sort out your health problems becomes too complex too fast. So get the basics right, and go from there. Start with The Daily Shake. A well rounded supplement blend, good food, good sleep, exercise and hydration should give you an amazing baseline. And then you can go speak to Wanda and get advice on what to add.
And if you want to see if I'm just steering you, at least you can try a Trial Pack of The Daily Shake for 10 days before going to see Wanda.
