I used to be smart.
Honestly. I ran a company with lots of products, 100's of ingredients and many outlets. And I had the whole business in my head. I could you tell you stock levels, sales figures and what each product did.
Then I had a kid.
And I'm not sure if I actually got less smart, or the constant tiredness affected me, but I've never quite been the same. Probably similar to how Biden feels. Unfortunately, you can't just choose not to keep running for parent.
So when I started putting The Daily Shake together, two things were priority: Mental cognition and inflammation. (We'll discuss inflammation another time.)
As I researched, I found interesting actions by nutrients that we all take for granted. For instance, our brain uses 20% of the oxygen we breathe in. It get's there via our blood flow. So ingredients like cocoa, l-arginine and l-citrulline all improve our blood flow, thereby improving oxygen, thereby making us smart. Er. This also explains why a lot of people felt dumber after COVID, less oxygen.
Our brain uses 20% of the glucose in our body for energy. But, it actually converts it into ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the basic form of energy in the body. Vitamin B12 (among others) is crucial in the conversion process. So B12 doesn't give us energy, it improves our use of the energy already there.
And what happens when the brain is low on energy? It shuts down non-crucial parts to sustain the necessary areas. Apparently being nice to people is non-crucial because this is why we get irritable when we are hungry.
And that's why I take The Daily Shake myself every day, so I can appear smart. More oxygen to my brain, and better use of my carbohydrates.
Does anyone know the address of those US politicians? I should send them some.
